It was a nice car; yes it had 7 seats plus driver. Two seat in the front, one large behind and 2 times 2 seats along in the back, comfortable for Asian standard sized people.
It was little bit tight for us. We ended, me sting in the front next to the driver, Martin Dirma and Pui behind with the twins and Ahmad with Boas with the provisioning and backpack’s in the back.
We made a first stop in town for Ahmad to buy some presents for the villagers, and then we made our way to Ahmad’s house in the air coned car to have breakfast.
After breakfast we had a 2 hour drive to the first village up the hill facing the ocean. Aircon was not working anymore but with opened windows it was ok. A 10 minutes walk from the car park brought us to the traditional village of Takpala.
The houses are surrounded by big trees that give shade all around and keep the place cool.
All looks nice and clean. Wells provide water, and live stock pigs and chicken run free around the place
The houses are built in bamboo, with an open first floor where we were invited to seat with the owner of the house. The second floor sits on large plates fixed on the piles. This is to avoid mice and rats to access the upper levels.
On the second floor located under the roof made out of grass, is the cooking place.
They also do very nice weaving pieces and local handicraft work.
The twins were quite an attraction for the locals, and got all their attention. But it was stressful for them
Ahmad distributed cigarettes, school books for the kids to the locals as gift from us.
As other tourist’s were arriving we said goodbye and left the village to continue our tour.
