After organizing the CAIT, we had to get the cultural visa for Indonesia (2 month +1). We went to the Indonesian Consulate in Nouméa and met Madame Catherine at the front desk that made us fill the forms for the application.
Because Pui gets 1 month on arrival (arrangement between Asian countries), they had to check if she can get the cultural visa. We paid 9’000.- XFP (75.-Euros), and were supposed to pick up the passports 4 days later.
As we are making our way back to the marina, I get a phone call from Madame Catherine telling me that there is a problem with my passport, there is no empty page left to stitch the visa in, and the passport is still valid for 2 more years.
To make the story short, it was not possible to attach the visa to the passport, use the guard pages, cover a stamped page, and even get from the Swiss Consulate a certified photocopy of two stamped passport pages so we can use one of them to stitch the visa.
We had to wait 2 weeks to get a letter from the Indonesian consulate telling that we met them to apply for the cultural visa, and couldn’t get it for the reasons mentioned above.
With this letter, we will have to negotiate our staying in Indonesia. We have the CAIT, Pui gets 1 month on arrival, I will have to backchich (oh sorry! negotiate my situation).
